Walking Groups Print E-mail

Now people can support the shelter AND exercise their dog at the same time, by participating in the walking group organised by Animal Aid.

On the first Saturday of each month, a group meets at a designated point along the Warburton Rail Trail for a walk to help raise funds for shelter animals in need of special veterinary care. A $5.00 registration/donation fee is requested of each person participating. Without the additional, dedicated funds it may be beyond the means of the shelter to provide extra, more costly treatment.

One animal to receive such extra care was Mitzi, who was able to have a vital operation on her knees. With the raised funds, other animals like Mitzi will have a similar chance.

Everybody is welcome, whether a dog owner or not. All walks are suitable for prams and strollers, although it can be a little rough in some places. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. The walk lasts for approximately 2 hours. Registration is from 9.30 am and the walk begins at 10.00 am. All participants should BYO morning tea.

Come along and enjoy the chance to meet new people, exercise your four-legged friends and help Animal Aid.

$5.00 donation for registration.
