Help us to help them There are many ways that you can help our animal welfare work such as volunteering and donations of practical items for use in the daily routine. However, the reality is that it costs money to keep our doors open. All contributions made to Animal Aid go directly towards providing shelter animals with the best standard of care and every available opportunity to find a new home.
Our extremely dedicated staff all strive for the same goal. They go to great lengths to ensure that the pets we offer for adoption are temperamentally and physically sound. We gain as much insight into them and their prospective adoptive family as possible, so that they can be appropriately, and most importantly, permanently placed in new homes.
We have innovative programs to assist and educate the community on socially responsible pet ownership and dog/child safety.
Our A.R.T.™ (Animal Rehabilitation Training) and P.A.T.™ (Post Adoptive Training) programs are unique and have increased our adoption rates and reduced return rates, giving us rehoming statistics that we are very proud of.
Pets in Peril provides assistance to the victims of domestic violence, temporarily housing the pets while the family re-establish themselves in the community.
In our desire to see the end of pound only operations we collect as many unclaimed strays from local and regional pounds as we can.
As the shelter receives no government funding and the demands to provide the many services necessary to the animals, and the greater community, constantly increase, we are dependent on the generosity of our supporters.
