| Luis - Operations Manager |
Hi my name is Luis Marquez and I am the Manager of Animal Aid East Gippsland.
I have extensive on the job experience in all aspects of canine care and behavioural modification. From training assistance dogs for people with disabilities, including occupational and therapy programs in Bogota, Colombia, South America. I also spent three years providing pet safe programs and health care for the transport and boarding of quarantined animals for the biggest logistic animal transport company in Australia and the list goes on. I really enjoyed my time in puppy training and selection for service dogs programs like therapy dogs (for people with things like Autism ADD Depression), assistance dogs (these dogs can perform tasks for people who have disabilities), also search and rescue. It was a very rewarding job and I am finding my involvement with Animal Aid equally satisfying. |
| Megan - Animal Welfare Officer |
My name is Megan. I am an animal welfare officer at the East Gippsland Animal Aid Shelter; I originally started as a volunteer in 2008 doing one day a week of work placement through school. I then was offered a position here. I really enjoy my job and the people I work with are great, it’s always great to reunite pets and their families.
At home I have a 9 month old kelpie/koolie named Bruce and a cat named Booger. |
| Miranda - Animal Welfare Officer |
Hi, I'm Miranda and I'm an Animal Welfare Officer with Animal Aid East Gippsland. I joined AAEG in October 2009 as a volunteer, then came on board as a staff member in December 2009.
Although our work presents us with many challengesand difficulties, for me these are far outweighed by the rewards it brings. To place a dog orcat into a new, loving home or to reunite a lost pet with its people is just so satisfying.I love that I can make things better for so many of East Gippsland's companion animals.
My partner, Dave, and I currently share our home with aKelpie named Stubby (that's him in the photo with me, isn't he handsome?), a cat names Pussa, a blue-tongue named Barry and a horse named Mick. |
