August 2009 Print E-mail

Just thought we would update you of a couple of important things that are happening this month at Animal Aid. A great individual effort for the animal welfare cause and a great initiative to end pet overpopulation. Hope you enjoy!

Ben O'Ryan - a young man who is prepared to go a long way to help animals.

Animal Aid is always looking for new ways that we can raise funds to give refuge, veterinary care and a second chance to all the cats, dogs, pocket pets and small livestock in need of our help. When someone else offers to do it for us we are not about to look a gift horse in the mouth.

We are asking you to get behind 15 year old Ben O'Ryan, a year 10 student at Beaconhills College, Village Campus, Berwick. As part of his 'Community Matters' project, this enthusiastic young man is planning to run 50 kilometers for the animals and we need you to sponsor him. Please support Ben in his endeavour; we really appreciate the huge effort he is making to try to help the animals at Animal Aid. Make it worth his while by sponsoring him per km in cash or cans of pet food.

Starting off in Macclesfield at about 9am on Tuesday the 25th of August, he will make his way along the Healesville-Koo Wee Rup Rd towards Woori Yallock. Then make his way across to Healesville, make a left turn towards Coldstream and he will be on the home stretch. We expect him to arrive at the shelter at around 1pm. So come on everyone help Ben, help us to help the animals.

ndn_logo August is also National Desexing Month in Australia, and to help support this cause, Animal Aid Veterinary Clinic are offering discounted spaying and neutering of cats and dogs. To find out more about National Desexing Month and Animal Aid's involvement, please click here >>
